WATERVLIET -- Helen Gerry Crusious Jackson, 75, of Broadway, died Thursday at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy. Born in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of the late John Harold and Helen Bertha Hawley Crusious. She lived in Connecticut while growing up and was a resident of Watervliet for over 50 years. She was the business manager for Colljack's Sporting Goods in Watervliet and the Menands Market Restaurant for over 30 years. She was a homemaker and was an avid bingo player. She was the beloved husband of Fred Martin Jackson, Sr. of Watervliet; loving mother of two daughters, Marilyn F. Mein and Paula C. Flynn both of Watervliet; sister of Esther Elder of Bradford, VT and the late Doris Crusious and John Harold Crusious; half-sister of John David Crusious of Connecticut; proud grandmother of Ronald Boisvert, Jr., Diana Boisvert LaBounty, Scott Boisvert, Joanne Boisvert Alix, Michael Mein, Geraldine Curley Colliton, Shawn Curley, Colleen Curley Reedy, Brian Curley and Caroline Curley. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday morning at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet, with Rev. Robert Peters officiating. Interment Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 5-8 p.m.

Born in New burgh, N.Y. on January 3, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Fred M. and Helen G. Crusius Jackson. She was raised in Watervliet and graduated from St. Patrick's Grammar School and Watervliet High School. She was a homemaker raising her five children and also was employed by the Golub Corporation at the Watervliet Price Chopper where she was a cashier for 18 years before retiring 20 years ago.
